According to the website of The United Nation, Cambodia has embraced the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions is at the core of the new 2030 Agenda, adopted in September 2015 by 193 world leaders at the UN Sustainable Development Summit in New York.

The New Agenda consisting of 17 goals and 169 target came into effect on 1 January 2016. The UN in Cambodia continues to support the Royal Government in translating the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals into local implementation, as the country is expected to localize the 17 Goals, with the addition of mine action, within the context of the national vision, strategies and plans for sustainable development.

To this end, the 2030 Sustainable Development Declaration envisages an inclusive process with consultations with all stakeholders including communities and civil society groups, as well as development partners and the private sector.

  1. End all forms of poverty everywhere
  2. End hunger, achieve better food security and nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture
  3. Ensuring a healthy lifestyle and promoting well-being for people of all ages
  4. Ensure quality education in the environment (everyone or as a whole) and equitably, as well as promote full learning opportunities.
  5. Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
  6. Ensure water presence and sustainable water and sanitation management for all people
  7. Ensure access to energy at affordable prices, reliable, sustainable and modern for everyone
  8. Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full employment and productive and decent work for all
  9. Build climate-resilient infrastructure, promote environmentally sustainable and sustainable development, and promote innovation.
  10. Reduce inequalities in and between countries
  11. Make cities and settlements safe, durable and sustainable
  12. Ensure sustainable use and production
  13. Take immediate action to prevent climate change and its effects
  14. Conserve and use the oceans sustainably and marine resources for sustainable development
  15. Protect, rehabilitate and promote the sustainable use of inland ecosystems, manage forests, prevent desertification and Stop and oppose the worsening of soil conditions and stop the loss of biodiversity
  16. Promote peace and society as an environment for sustainable development, provide justice for all and make it more effective With responsibility and environment at all levels
